What changed
The previous Market Watch observation recorded METAc/USDC at 657.17% APY (73.96% base + 583.20% reward) with $945,928 of TVL. The current DeFi Terminal view rose to 826.43%, a 169.26 percentage-point increase, while the reward component expanded by 177.00 points to 760.20%. The base component remained broadly similar at 66.24%. TVL was about $927,400, only around 2% below the prior observation, so the headline APY increase is better explained by incentive changes than by a sharp contraction in supplied liquidity. DefiLlama's RWA view still showed 657.17%, however, leaving substantial asynchronous display differences.
Why it matters
The observation reinforces that high tokenized-stock LP yields on Base can depend far more on external incentives such as AERO emissions than on organic trading fees from the stock token itself. METAc's base component remained in the mid-60% range while the reward component alone exceeded 700%, so the headline APY should not be read as organic fee yield. A gap of more than 169 percentage points across display surfaces referencing the same underlying data also makes observation time and data surface critical when interpreting short-lived annualized yields.
Evidence
- DeFi Terminal — Aerodrome Slipstream USDC-METAc — At the observation time, the page displayed 826.43% APY, consisting of 66.24% base APY and 760.20% reward APY, with approximately $927,400 of TVL. The page identifies DefiLlama as its data source.
- DefiLlama — METAc RWA dashboard — During the same observation window, the RWA aggregate displayed Aerodrome Slipstream USDC-METAc at 657.17% APY, with 73.96% base APY, 583.20% reward APY and $945,928 of TVL, a 169.26 percentage-point gap versus the DeFi Terminal display.
- Beefy — Tokenized Stocks on Base — Beefy explains that Aerodrome emissions for Base tokenized-stock liquidity are allocated through weekly gauge votes, while Beefy adds separate Merkl USDC incentives and mooBIFI boosts on its own CLM layer.
Limitations
DeFi Terminal displays data sourced from DefiLlama, so the two views are not independent data providers. The gap between 826.43% and 657.17% is likely explained at least in part by cache or update-timing differences. Displayed APY is a short-horizon annualized metric that can change rapidly with swap volume, concentrated-liquidity range utilization, TVL and AERO gauge allocations. Tokenized stocks also carry issuer and custody risk, eligibility and mint/redemption constraints, potential pricing gaps because the equity reference market operates 24/5 while the DEX trades 24/7, concentrated-liquidity range and impermanent-loss risk, and smart-contract risk. Beefy's Merkl and mooBIFI incentives are additional layers on Beefy CLMs and should not be conflated with the reward APY displayed for a direct Aerodrome LP.
