What changed

This watch newly identified a composition in which tokenized stocks are used not as LP legs, collateral or vault principal, but as an in-kind reward basket purchased from another token's trading tax. The public ledger lists settled payouts from 2026-09-01 onward, while 60% of the current 10-slot basket is made up of stock and ETF tokens. Applying the stated 3% holder-reward share to the displayed roughly $1.8K of 24-hour volume implies about $54 per day of gross reward flow at that activity level, but this is not a sustainable APY estimate.

Why it matters

The design extends tokenized-stock usage beyond price exposure, LPs and collateral into automated in-kind rewards funded by crypto-token trading activity. The reward source is REBASE trading tax rather than stock dividends, while basket composition is derived from balance-weighted holder picks. This creates a distinct tokenized-stock yield/composition primitive in which equity tokens are the assets paid out rather than the source of yield.

Evidence

  • REBASE โ€” live product page โ€” The public interface says a 5% tax applies to every trade, with 3% allocated to holder rewards that are converted into a 10-asset basket and pushed pro rata to holders. At observation time the basket included wtNVDA, wtIAU, wtCOIN, wtDRAM, wtQQQM and wtSPCX, and the page labeled the mix as 60% Stocks & ETFs. It displayed about $7.4K total distributed, roughly $1.8K 24-hour volume, a $50.9K market cap, 281 holders and about $21.7K liquidity, and showed settled payout entries dating from 2026-09-01. 2026-09-06T15:51:05+09:00
  • REBASE documentation โ€” The documentation describes the 5% trade tax as 3% holder rewards, 1% BaseStonk, 0.6% marketing and 0.4% liquidity & burn, and explains that balance-weighted holder picks determine the top 10 basket assets. The same docs still contain a Risk-section statement saying on-chain figures are simulated/pre-launch and that nothing has executed on Base mainnet. 2026-09-06T15:51:05+09:00

Limitations

REBASE's public homepage shows a LIVE state and settled payout history beginning on 2026-09-01, while the project's own docs still say its on-chain figures are simulated/pre-launch and that nothing has executed on Base mainnet. The homepage links to Basescan, but the explorer could not be independently fetched during this observation because of access restrictions. The displayed 24-hour volume is small and the 3% reward flow can fall toward zero when trading activity is quiet, so it should not be treated as a fixed APY. Basket choices are weighted by holder balances, and the interface showed only one wallet participating in picks at observation time. The docs also state that a live controller can force a basket rebuild. ST0x assets carry their own issuer, custody, routing, underlying-market-hours and price-linkage limitations.
