What changed

METACT TVL increased by $28,318, from $10,605 to $38,923, or about 267%, while holder count rose from 31 to 36. The direct pool displayed APY decreased from 0.52% to 0.37%. The largest current holder accounts for 79.26% of the vault, or $30,850.37. DefiLlama's RWA aggregate view simultaneously shows METACT at $38,791 TVL and 0.28% APY, indicating a modest provider-surface refresh or aggregation difference.

Why it matters

TAU's carry vault is a composition that uses tokenized stock in a collateral, borrowing and stablecoin-carry structure. The notable change is that capital increased sharply without a corresponding increase in displayed yield. This may indicate growing use of stock-backed carry on Base, but the roughly 79% concentration in the largest holder means the TVL increase may be driven primarily by one large deposit rather than broad user adoption.

Evidence

Limitations

DefiLlama's direct pool page and RWA aggregate view show modest differences in TVL and APY, which may reflect refresh timing or aggregation methodology. This observation did not verify the start of a new external incentive, and the direct page does not separate the components of the displayed 0.37% APY. Most of the TVL increase is concentrated in the largest holder, so it should not be interpreted as broad user adoption. The carry structure remains exposed to variable borrowing costs, liquidation and oracle risk, smart-contract risk, tokenized-stock issuer/custody/redemption/eligibility constraints, and the timing mismatch between 24/5 equity markets and 24/7 Base markets.
